Thermal overalls washing chart

Welding clothing is covered under the EN ISO 11611 standard.  The standard considers the risks involved from welding and the protection required to reduce risk of injury.

The risks:  Protection against sparks, brief contact with fire and minimise the risk of electric shock from brief , accidental contact with electrical conductors.

Who is at risk?  Those working in welding and allied processes.

Injuries: Burns from fire, sparks, or flammable material, infrared radiation exposure and electrocution

The Tests Performed:

The standard specifies two classes with specific performance requirements:

Class 1 is protection against less hazardous welding techniques and situations, causing lower levels of spatter and radiant heat.

Class 2 is protection against more hazardous welding techniques and situations, causing higher levels of spatter and radiant heat.

Please note:  BIZ Flame products are suitable for protection against the hazards of welding processes.  Whilst the fabric is protective to molten metals, care should be taken to minimise exposure where possible.  This can be achieved with leatherwear to ensure that these overalls last as long as possible,
