4047 Aluminium 2.4mm TIG Welding Rods 2.5kg Packet. Designed for use in scenarios where good colour matching with the parent material is an important requirement. The 12% Silicon content in 4047 TIG Filler Rods makes them a preferred choice for automotive work, shipbuilding and many other industries where a neat appearance of the finished weld is vital. Benefiting from excellent corrosion resistance combined with a low melting point (approximately 80°C below pure aluminium) ensures a reduced likelihood of cracks and other issues within the weld process.

Furthermore, don’t use 4047 Aluminium TIG Welding Rods if the fabrication requires anodising. This is due to the silicon content in the rods, as a result it will turn the filler alloy dark grey during the anodising process. Additionally, the silicon also provides greater fluidity and reduced shrinkage.
