316L Stainless Steel 3.2MM TIG Welding Rods – 5kg Packet. This Welding Wire is the most popular choice of stainless steel filler rods, with this in mind it is suitable for use with most stainless steel grades. Furthermore, 316L has the highest level of corrosion resistance in its category, making it the perfect option for use in food preparation areas and marine applications, as well as architectural structures. Because of the low carbon content in 316L filler rods, intergranular corrosion does not present an issue. Intergranular corrosion is normally referred to as weld decay and occurs due to sensitisation in the heat affected zone. Packaged in square tubes, as a result, this provides excellent protection and storage. Accordingly these rods are to be used with 100% pure argon shielding gas.
