Description
0.8MM MIG WIRE 5KG SPOOL | MILD STEEL SG2
A 5kg spool of 0.8mm mild steel MIG wire on a 5KG spool, suitable for welding mild steel. This is the most popular MIG wire.
0.8mm MIG wire is a very versatile size, very popular for automotive work and general light fabrication.
Spools are 200mm in diameter with an inner hole of approximately 54mm.
Copper coated double-deoxidised for welding unalloyed and low-alloyed mild and medium tensile steels, for impact toughness down to -20C. Manufactured with a high-quality copper finish for improved feeding. Precision layer wound. Smaller compact MIGs, such as the Jasic MIG welder up to the MIG 200 only take 5kg spools.
Suitable for use in general fabrication, construction, tanks and boilers, repair and auto body applications. Comprises manganese and silicon to provide good mechanical properties.
5KG spools are suitable for smaller compact machines but will also fit larger machines. When fitting a 5KG spool to a 15KG capacity machine, you may need a spacer to ensure the smaller spool is still restricted by the brake on the hub. Feel free to let us know if you need one and we may be able to help with a piece of pipe we can cut to size for you.
Ideal when not welding lots too, where having a 15KG spool may mean it will rust over the years.
Material to be welded:
Can be used on a wide variety of mild steels, structural steel, fine-grain steel, pipe steel, boiler steel and cast steel.
