Jasic EVO TIG 200P PFC Pulsed DC TIG Inverter Welder – EVO 2.0 SERIES

The Jasic EVO TIG 200P PFC (ET-200P) is a feature packed DC TIG welder suitable for TIG welding Steel, Stainless Steel and Titanium.  The uprated version of the hugely popular PRO Jasic series, the EVO range offers a large format super easy to use control panel with rugged build and looks.  Optional foot controls are also available including a wireless pedal, for ultimate flexibility and convenience of use.

The EVO TIG series come with PFC as standard for increased energy efficiency.  They are also auto voltage sensing and can be plugged into 110 or 230V supplies including generators.  Furthermore, the input tolerance of the Jasic EVO TIG is from 96V up to 265V meaning it will cope with being used on long extension leads where voltage drop may otherwise be an issue.

The new ClearVision technology combines a high definition led screen mounted at the optimum angle for improved visibility and increased viewing comfort.   Additionally, the surprisingly lightweight structure makes this unit very portable. Switch with ease between MMA mode and TIG mode with one button press.

Standard accessories include 4m TIG Torch, Earth return lead, argon regulator, protective carry case and gas hose.

Buttons across the bottom (From left to right):

  • Choose between TIG Modes or MMA
  • Toggle between HF TIG and Lift TIG
  • 2T or 4T selection
  • In MMA: Amps, Hot Start and Arc Force

Buttons on top right of the panel from top to bottom:

  • Remote control
  • Smart Gas on/off

The main knob can be used to cycle through the parameters chart to illuminate each of the settings.  A push of the button selects the parameter to be set and it can be adjusted by twisting the knob.  Very user friendly, each parameters numeric value appears on screen for easy viewing.

As a result of extensive research and development the EVO TIG 200P PFC (ET-200P) Inverter Welder boasts a wide range of new features.

Dash Arc function for HF(High Frequency) Ignition, combines an HF boosting circuit and programming logic, in order to achieve high ignition performance. Owing to Dash Arc technology, the arc striking success rate is better than 99% with an impressive ignition response rate of between 50-60ms.  In addition, the HF stabilising feature provides a balanced and consistent HF oscillation for a smooth HF start regardless of the input voltage stability.

Main Features

The EVO TIG 200P PFC (ET-200) also boasts a set of full featured pulse TIG parameters, in order to provide further control of the arc and the weld puddle.  This is achieved by alternating between the peak and the base current, so that the heat going into the work piece is minimised.

An auto sleep mode reduces power consumption, where, when left for a period of time, the machine will go to “sleep” into an energy saving state (running at less than 50w), and returns to full function with any key press.

A Smart Gas option calculates the optimum post gas delay time based on the current setting and weld time.

Improving Performance & Protection

The EVO TIG also has fan on demand meaning the internal cooling fan will only start when it is required, reducing noise as well as power consumption.  This also acts to reduce the amount of dust drawn into the welder which will increase the lifespan of the components.

Active Balancing Air Passage (ABAP) on the Jasic EVO series incorporates specially designed tunnels to funnel air through to cool the machine without particle laden air being passed over the components. This efficient cooling system improves the power sources performance and by protecting the components increases the longevity of the machine.

Overcurrent and thermal protection also help to protect the machine from damage.

Additional Options

There are optional products available such as wired/wireless screen remote control and foot pedals.  While the standard machine is air cooled there is also availability for a water cooled system.

Pulse Function Explained

The pulse function allows the operator to set a welding current along with a second background current. The machine will then switch between the currents at a rate set by the welder. As a result of the pulse function, the operator is able to produce smooth, spatter free welds at lower currents without compromise.  Therefore this is a great function when welding thinner materials, subsequently minimising heat input in order to prevent burn through or warping of the workpiece.
