Description
Defender 400 Green Welding Screen With Heavy Duty Frame
The Defender 400 is a heavy duty welding screen, supplied as a kit, with all parts for assembly of a self standing strip curtain and frame, suitable for welding protection. The bigger brother model of the Defender 300 series screens, the 400 features a heavier duty frame and strip curtains which fasten together for effective UV light and spatter protection.
The screen comes with strong casters for mobility around the workshop. 2 of the casters are locakable too, to keep the frame in place once located in a suitable area.
Measuring approximately 6.5 feet wide and 6 feet tall the Defender 400 is made from 33mm powder coated steel tube.
The welding screen kit contains 5 welding screen curtain strips compliant with ISO25980. The green welding curtain strips fasten together with click studs to its neighbouring strip. The curtain strips can then be attached to the header rail of the Defender frame using the supplied curtain rings.
Complying with ISO25980, the Defender curtain protects any observer from the arc light generated during welding and the material is flame retardent.

WHY USE A WELDING SCREEN?
There is no question that any person carrying out a welding process must be well protected from the inherent hazards associated. These risks include but are not limited to exposure to the intense light generated from the welding arc, as well as sparks and spatter. The welder would typically wear a welding helmet to protect the eyes, face and head, as well as suitable flame retardent gloves and clothing.
To protect other persons in the same room, a welding screen or curtain can be utilised. A red or amber welding screen are most popular, allowing some supervision of the welder behind the screen due to its semi transparent nature. The curtain blocks harmful UV light, whilst allowing some light through. It also protects persons against sparks and spatter.
