A 2.5kg Pack of 5556 1.6mm Aluminium TIG Welding Rods. Constructed from a combination of Magnesium, Manganese and Zinc, as a result, the finished product has excellent high tensile strength properties making it the preferred filler wire where this is an important factor. In addition, 5556 Aluminium TIG Rods have excellent corrosion resistance and good ductility which allows the finished weld to bend and stretch without compromising the integrity, therefore resulting in potential stress fractures.

Due to its strength and corrosion performance, this filler material is used in many applications including marine castings and fabrications, military, railway industry and shipbuilding. Great for colour matching after anodising, when using 5XXX and 6XXX base materials.

5556 TIG wire can a good option for welding Aluminium checker plate which is very often 5754 grade.
