Oxford welding machines have a history dating back 80 years.  Known for their British build their welding machines are internationally renowned as one of the best in the industry.  Pretty rare to find something built in Britain these days!  Oxford welding and cutting machines use the basic principle of rugged build quality and high reliability, with extended life span and excellent welding/cutting performance.  In the last few years, Oxford machines have been developed to incorporate some of the latest technology whilst keeping to their no nonsense old fashioned engineering approach that Oxford products have become renowned for.

The range of Oxford products have been designed to be extremely electrically efficient, achieving performance levels much higher than other competing brand machines.  MIG welders producing over 400A using a single phase supply and single phase plasma cutters cutting up to 36mm steel demonstrate this impeccably.

The Oxford range now includes around 50 different models, including MIG, TIG, Plasma, Pulse MIG and multi-process machines with MMA, MIG and TIG functions.  All machines are 100% designed and made in the UK.

The Oxford range of welding and cutting machines do not feature inverter based machines.  Oxford state that “pure” inverter machines are packed full of sensitive components that can suffer from reliability problems.  Inverter machines are more susceptible to knocks, spikes in electrical input and dust from the working environment.  For this reason, Oxford have kept their machines traditional and transformer based for ultra reliability.  In order to benefit from some of the advantages of inverter tech, Oxford use hybrid technology to utilise the functionality of an inverter whilst keeping the reliability of the transformer based machine.
